Performance Assessment of Biomass / Bagasse Power Plant (BPPs). - Supported by MNRE |
|
|
The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), Government of India, with its mission and vision of sustainable development has been encouraging power generation through the bio-mass route. There exists a huge potential that still needs to be harnessed.
In order to promote, popularize and encourage biomass based power generation, MNRE has formulated a subsidy scheme to achieve the desired goal.
Biomass/bagasse based power plants, installed and commissioned need to be assessed to evaluate their individual operating performance. The power plant is required to be operated effectively and efficiently and should maintain a high Plant Load Factor (PLF), towards which the technical/managerial efficiency is of paramount importance.
Keeping this larger perspective in view, the MNRE has devised a scheme for performance assessment of Biomass Power Plants (BPPs) by a reputed National agency.
National Productivity Council (NPC) has been chosen as the evaluating entity by MNRE towards ascertaining that the BPPs are performing as per technical specification and at prescribed duty condition.
Under the capital subsidy scheme of MNRE, NPC study team will carryout the performance assessment of biomass/bagasse power plant (BPPs). |
